When I filled out my profile the last question was a random question: What reason do you have to believe the earth is flat?
This question made me think of another question, one that I was actually more interested in: In general we, on this earth, are critical. Is this by nature or by design? Has this evolved from a natural curiosity or a need to understand no matter what the consequences?
Then I realized that this question may be iinterpreted and answered in different ways depending on which side of your brain is dominant.

- Raised by the daughter of a minister, I learned that all humans are connected through a spiritual force. This force is non-denominational. The force is apparent in varying degrees in all humankind; just like the smell of garlic, or the aroma of buttercups, or the presence or non-presence of freckles. Sometimes it is a good thing and sometimes it is not. But, what we do with this force in life is a personal choice. I believe that life is truly a miracle. OK, I will tell you how I perceive the critical nature of humans. I think we can become critical based upon two things: our natural need to conform or become a part of a group and if we are born into a societal group that exhibits this trait as part of the norm. We are naturally egocentric and easily drawn into sociocentric thinking and behavior. Here is another link for a left-right brain quiz.
